I can focus my eyes on an object, and then open my attention to include the periphery while keeping the object in *optical* focus (but not mental focus). Is this the proper way to keep my eyes? (In-focus) The proper way to keep my attention? (widest possible focus) I can relax my eyes further and this gives a bit more feeling of dropping backwards, but (1) this makes my vision go double (each eye still in focus on the proper plane, but the vision is doubled so the eyes must be pointing slightly differently) and (2) based on the other instructions “dropping further back” doesn’t seem necessary or desirable since the feeling here vs there is supposed to dissolve. Feedback please? I want to make sure I get the “body” part correct because I keep “trying” different things with my eyes to get the physical “view” correct. I want to have one clear instruction for my *optical* looking/view, so I can stop being distracted by that concern, and instead be able to “look” back mentally for the source of my mental view. Or perhaps it doesn’t matter and I should relax the eyes fully and let them do whatever they naturally do (single or double doesn’t matter as long as the attention/perception is cast as widely as possible)? Thank you!

Can smbd pls help(maybe there was an earlier video, practice, etc) what practice, visualization is used to heal somebody, what Color should be used , as energy sent to the deceased body organ, to get it healed? Gold, Silverish White, Red or smth? Will be deeply grateful! 🙏 Maybe there is a whole practice on healing?

I practice dying every day. Dear Lama's words about what it even means to say "dying" and "dead" in western context are so pertinent. Hospitals will manipulate this process for a variety of reasons. One is that they don't actually like people dying in hospital as they have to report that and they like to keep deaths down because they all get lumped together statistically. Hence they often throw dying people out a day or two before which IMHO is the greatest blessing. Also understand that if you are an organ donor things are very different when you are dying and I'll just leave it at that. "Dying" is still a topic discussed among the medical establishment and it is far from settled even how they actually define it. And heaven knows absolutely no one knows what is going on or where someone else is in the dying process for a fact. I hope to take it very slowly I want to experience all the physical and spiritual process and not have anything rush by -- like the various bardos. Being born is certainly a process and so is dying, mysterious as it is to us. People know they are dying and they all react in their own ways. My mother just stopped interacting with anyone the last few days -- people were sying she's unconscious and whatnot -- no -- but she would still cock en eyebrow if she didn't like something going on around her, hahaha. No goodbyes, no last remarks, just still my mom keeping an eye on everyone. As in life, in death, hahaha. I thought it was cool that she didn't want to be disturbed or have to perform her death for anyone to make them feel better. Just food for thought.

At 13.55, Lama Lena recites a mantra, as a remedy for a bad action. She mentioned there is a video for this mantra. Does anyone know what that mantra is?

I would love to hear from dear Lama about the good karma people living gracefully under the most dire of conditions create. I have taken the worst hardships in my own life and been grateful to them for giving me opportunities I would never have otherwise had to truly develop positive ways of extracting the best from them -- more kindness, more forgiving, more tolerant, less self possessed. It's easy to think well of ourselves when we lead mostly harmless lives but having to do very very deep in the most dire of circumstances is where the biggest opportunities for creating good karma come up. Karma is what we do with what life gives us. Someone else's karma might cause us to be hit by a car you know. I'd like to hear about karma in ways other than "getting what you deserve". No one gets what they deserve. People may get what they need, if they can recognize that and that is using free will to manage karma. Peace.

With all respect, it is not the negativ...karma of a child to get killed in war. It is the negativ karma of the killing, not knowing its true being and the being of reality. You said something not really correct. Any other view would fake bodhicitta. And, it is all our mind. There are no demons real. In the light, Rigpa, they all dissolve traceless. Even Buddha could not change other ones karma, we are responsible. And...unrestrained greed of few turning many into poverty more and more, not because of their karma. Buddha was poor, giving up all richness, all palaces. To discover the one treasure.

I love Lama Lena. I know that's not the appropriate way of expressing the value she has in my life and the deep appreciation I have for her but -- hey -- she just mentioned in this talk that Americans say all sorts of things other cultures wouldn't say . . .so here I am just blurting it out and adding that it's so wonderful having teachings from someone one feels absolutely no resistance to and genuine warm good feelings. toward. Carry on, Lama Lena. We all need you so much. PS I really mention it because so few people inspire me to feel this way, to be honest:)
